On November 16, the 17th Cross-Strait Tea Industry Expo was held in Wuyi Mountain City. As the host, Wuyi Mountain fully leverages its five core advantages as a “World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site, National Park, the origin of world black tea and oolong tea, the starting point of the Tea Road, and the first place to propose the concept of ‘Three Teas'”, and promotes the deep integration of culture, technology, and industry with the “Three Teas” as the main line. During the period, a series of activities such as “Tea and the World, Gathering in Wuyi” Chinese Tea Intangible Cultural Exchange, “Tea Rhyme through the Silk Road, Tea Fragrance Gathering in Wuyi” Wuyi Mountain Tea Production and Marketing Docking Meeting, and “Wuyi Mountain ‘Three Teas’ Coordinated Innovation Research Institute” unveiling ceremony were successively held, fully demonstrating the practical results of the “Three Teas” coordination.
In terms of Fujian-Taiwan integration, the Tea Expo actively practices the concept of “one family on both sides of the strait”. Among the 20 planned activities, 15 focus on the integration and development of both sides of the strait. The invited Taiwanese tea merchants cover all cities and counties in Taiwan. The five major tea associations in Taiwan and the Strait Tea Association jointly build the “Concentric Tea Garden” to deepen the industrial cooperation between tea people on both sides of the strait. At the same time, the “Tea Fragrance on Both Sides of the Strait, Shared Moonlight” cultural evening and “Tea Fragrance on Both Sides of the Strait, Exploring Tea Fate” tea culture exchange activities were held, promoting the spiritual unity of compatriots on both sides of the strait through forms of performance such as tea song duet, field creation, and Kunqu Opera “People in the Grass and Trees”.
In 2025, this Tea Expo will deepen trade cooperation with Kazan, Saint Petersburg, and Chaktu, international cities along the “Tea Road”, for the first time, and specially invite Russian tea merchants to set up exhibitions, actively building a “tea trade + cultural mutual learning” dual platform. The Tea Road International Cooperation Exchange Activity and the National Protected Unit Cultural Alliance Symposium were held to further consolidate the consensus on cross-regional cooperation and promote the joint construction of the Tea Road and cultural integration. The “Starting Point Exhibition Area of the Tea Road” is specially set up in the exhibition area to systematically display the key historical materials and physical evidence during the application process, present the phased results in a concentrated manner, and solidly consolidate and highlight the historical position and practical value of Wuyi Mountain as the starting point of the Tea Road.
The integration of tea and tourism has become another highlight. The exhibition hall sets up the “Four Seasons Tea Affairs Exhibition Area” and the “Tea Footpath Exhibition Area”, and connects with the Xiaohongshu team to display tea cultural tourism products, connecting the National Park No. 1 Scenic Road, tea plantations, and tea homestays and other resources. Tianxin Village, Tea Expo Park, Yueying Wuyi Square, Xingcun Bamboo Raft Wharf simultaneously hold tea fighting events, and tourists can participate in the award review, effectively enhancing the experience and fun.
In addition, the Tea Expo builds a “1+2+N” activity pattern, with Wuyi Mountain as the main venue, and other counties and cities such as Jianyang District and Jianou City simultaneously carry out characteristic tea affairs, radiating and driving the surrounding counties and cities to coordinate and link, realizing the “two-way flow” of personnel, and creating a “harvest festival for tea farmers and a carnival for the tea industry”.
The 17th Cross-Strait Tea Industry Expo, with tea as the medium, connects the friendship between the two sides of the strait, international cooperation, and industrial vitality. It not only highlights the responsibility and mission of Wuyi Mountain as a core tea production area, but also paints a vivid picture of the integrated development of the “Three Teas”. In the future, this grand event will continue to be a bridge for cross-strait tea industry exchanges and a link for international tea routes, allowing tea fragrance to cross borders and refresh people’s hearts, and heading for the beautiful future of “tea and the world”.
