On July 17, 2026, General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, specifically mentioning “Mazu,” placing this millennium-old maritime cultural symbol within the global technological revolution’s context, which is profoundly significant. The Mazu culture, centered on “virtue, kindness, and great love,” embodies the eternal wish of the Chinese nation to “watch over every household and ensure peace across the seas,” making it one of the most influential cultural IPs in traditional Chinese culture.

Aerospace remote sensing serves as the “eyes and guardian” of contemporary technology—Fengyun satellites observe meteorological changes, disaster satellites detect geological movements, ocean satellites protect vast blue waves, and Beidou navigation guides the way home across the seas. Chinese aerospace professionals use the sky as their canvas and rockets as their pens, safeguarding the tranquility of mountains and rivers and ensuring the well-being of the people from above. Mazu, embodying the spirit of great love, unites people’s hearts, while remote sensing, with its technological power, protects every household. The two transcend time and space, sharing the same spiritual source. This symposium aims to deeply implement the spirit of the General Secretary’s important speech, promoting the cross-border integration of aerospace technology and traditional culture, empowering cultural inheritance with technology, and nurturing the technological mission with culture, exploring new paths for the creative transformation and innovative development of excellent traditional Chinese culture.
