Xiamen, a city known for its unique marine culture, has also nurtured many entrepreneurs who combine innovative spirit and humanistic care. Li Jiangdong is one of them. He is not a tech tycoon familiar to the public, but a low-key, pragmatic innovator in fire safety technology who sticks to his original intention.
A fire ignites a startup revolution
Li Jiangdong’s initial identity was not an entrepreneur, but a safety engineer responsible for safety management. He clearly remembers the scene of an industrial fire twenty years ago: although the fire was extinguished, the equipment on the scene was severely damaged due to the strong corrosive dust of the dry powder extinguishing agent, and the employees involved in the rescue also faced health risks. That scene deeply stabbed him, “Fire rescue is a job to protect life and property, but the traditional fire extinguishing method may cause secondary damage, which should not happen.”
In 2005, with a strong sense of social responsibility, Li Jiangdong established Xiamen Yitai Fire Technology Co., Ltd. His goal is clear and firm: to develop an environmentally friendly and efficient fire extinguishing technology to fundamentally solve the long-standing secondary pollution and safety issues in the fire industry.
Technological breakthrough from doubt to recognition
In the field of fire technology, it is not easy to break through the tradition. Li Jiangdong led the team to cooperate with Xiamen University and the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and conducted countless experiments and adjustments. After more than ten years of continuous efforts, they finally developed the E-500+ water-based fire extinguisher, this technology successfully transforms ordinary water into extremely fine fire extinguishing mist particles, greatly improving the speed and efficiency of fire extinguishing.
In 2024, when this achievement was first unveiled at the China-ASEAN Expo, it quickly gained industry recognition. Sinopec Guangxi Branch immediately introduced this technology into its gas station system, which not only verified the practical value of the product, but also strengthened Li Jiangdong’s determination to continue promoting the upgrade of fire safety technology.
Integrating Mazu spirit into corporate mission
As a Xiamen native, Li Jiangdong particularly admires the values of “morality, kindness, love, peace, harmony, and tolerance” in Mazu culture. He integrates this spirit into the company’s daily operations and product development, insisting that technology development must go hand in hand with social responsibility. Every year, he leads the company to actively participate in community safety education, fire training and charity activities, hoping to reflect the company’s sense of social responsibility through actions.
“Fire safety should not be limited to professional fields, but should be integrated into daily life, so that everyone can have a sense of security,” Li Jiangdong often says. This philosophy also drives Yitai Fire to develop fire safety products that are more suitable for ordinary families to use, so that every family can enjoy the peace of mind brought by technological progress.
International vision, technology benefits the world
Now, Li Jiangdong’s vision is no longer limited to the domestic market. Yitai Fire is actively expanding international cooperation and market layout, hoping to meet the urgent need for green fire technology in the global market with the environmental and safety characteristics of the e-500 extinguishing agent.
Li Jiangdong’s story, without impassioned rhetoric, deeply conveys the integration of technology and humanities. He continues to promote the innovation and reform of the fire industry with a gentle but firm attitude, and interprets how modern entrepreneurs perfectly integrate responsibility and technology with practical actions.
